Board games: With the holidays looming, you may be talking to friends and family about new ways to gather this year. Groups may be smaller. Traditional meals may go virtual. Still, we need those shared experiences, even if we’re not in the same place. So, dust off that platter, dream up a cheese board and open some California wine. Together or apart, you’re ready to celebrate.
Team spirit: The eyes of the world were on California wine country this fall as wildfires broke out in some of our beloved regions. Fortunately, most wineries were unaffected and were able to help others, because that’s what sustainably minded wineries do. Wine lovers can help with recovery, too.
Which wine? Every wine has its cheesy soul mates, but you can spend a lifetime trying to sort that out. (Tough task.) While the right cheese can elevate a wine, the wrong cheese can rob it of fruit, so take a few minutes to review some pointers and avoid the pitfalls.
